International Applications

We have four main contracts for international youth workers in Brčko:

If you would like to work for Firefly, but your idea doesn't fit in with any of these job descriptions (e.g. a shorter, longer or part time project) then send us a short proposal of what you want to do.

You will need to be:

• Interested in the educational and creative developments of young people from all backgrounds and ethnic groups.
• Knowledgable and enthusiastic about your discipline(s).
• Experienced in teaching or youth work.
• Able to communicate well and have excellent listening skills.
• Reliable and responsible with work and the project.
• Able to work in a small team
• Flexible and robust in an often unpredictable environment.
• Informed about, and sensitive to, the history, politics and current situation of the region.
• Able to work individually and with initiative.
• Aware of others' private and professional needs.
• Respectful of the local community and local staff.
• Able to 'muck-in' with many things and help others when needed.
• Willing to learn the language (for longer term projects).
